VINCI Energies and the Aachen-based start-up oculavis have consolidated their collaboration with a partnership agreement.

Frankfurt am Main, 09. September 2021

As a leading technology company that won the Digital Lab Award 2021 this year, VINCI Energies has long been committed to extensive cooperation with young companies. With oculavis GmbH, specialised in digital solutions in the areas of remote services and augmented reality (AR), the Group is further expanding its digital ecosystem. With a view to improving the performance of mobile service technician solutions, VINCI Energies’ Axians brand is deepening its collaboration with oculavis.

VINCI Energies is continuously expanding its digital capabilities in order to offer customers the best solutions and services and to proactively support them in their digital transformation. As part of this Group strategy, the systems integrator is building a leading digital ecosystem, which has now been taken to a new level with oculavis. The solution of the start-up, which was founded in 2016 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and RWTH Aachen University, expands the service catalogue of Axians’ NEO Suite software.

“Close cooperation with start-ups plays an essential role at VINCI Energies in developing new digital technologies and expanding our portfolio of services. In addition to new solutions, we benefit from their wealth of ideas and additional creativity while giving them access to concrete customer projects. We are therefore continuously on the lookout for innovative candidates with potential. oculavis GmbH is an excellent example of this. The young company was able to quickly convince our department after the first contact and inclusion in our Startup Connect programme, and we are looking forward to the first exciting projects with oculavis.”

Remote service applications for Industry 4.0

The solution from oculavis extends the comprehensive NEO Suite from Axians, consisting of field service functions, mobile workforce management, self-service portals, predictive maintenance, IoT and AR applications, with a complete remote expert service. Here, information – from plant and operating data to documentation and 3D models – can be displayed via various mobile devices (data glasses, smartphone or tablet), while an expert is simultaneously connected via video call. This expert can display information and give instructions not only verbally, but also via AR tools.
